Excellent school with great staff and instructors! Neither my fellow students felt left out during any part of course and even though some parts of the ciriculum were frustrating to learn, the instructors showed a genuine interest in helping each of us learn everything we needed to become successful truck drivers. As a retired veteran, I have to say that I felt more at home learning with and being taught by former military members. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who is either still in the military or has gotten out that would like to get into the truck driving community. Friendly, professional staff is there to help you along the way!

Pros:
+ Course length (1 month) felt like it was just enough to help you learn the basics and help you to succeed as a safe truck driver.
+ Didn’t even feel like “school” but more like a new adventure with interesting ciriculum.
+ Instructors care about each student individually and do not give up on anyone no matter how hard of a time they may have been having. They all want you to pass!
+ While safety is paramount, the course was interactive, fun, intuitive, and ALL of the instructors and staff have great senses of humor. Lifelong friendships have been made amongst our class.
+ Pre-trip inspection, tractor and trailer components, maneuvers, and especially shifting a double clutch was explained and demonstrated in great detail so no matter what your experience level, you could rest assured that you would be able to get through it when the time to test came.
+ Recruiters from various truck companies fed us free lunch on several days while they gave their recruiter brief. Nobody will leave this school without many job offers unless they specifically chose not to. (Most job offers were facilitated by the staff to ease the process. Not much effort was needed on the students part.)

Cons:
– Most of us students felt like there should have been more “on the road” time to fine tune our skills l, especially while shifting gears. (Though I am not sure how that could be possible given the length of the course overall and budget constraints, instructor availablity, etc.)
– Equipment is not of the best condition (though that is to be expected at most truck driving schools since they take quite a bit of abuse by those just learning to drive).

If you have any interest in making a LOT of money doing something new and exciting, but don’t like a boring classroom setting, AND you feel more appropriate amongst veterans, this school is really the best choice for you. Thanks so much to Kandice and Jeff in the admin office for helping me get started! Thank you VERY much to my instructor(s) Monroe, Bennett, Dustin, and Abbott for helping me every step of the way!

Course is exactly what you need to get your CDL. Classroom portion is a little dry because it’s all power point but Mike kept it interesting. It’s an online based curriculum that you will take multiple practice test that you can take over amd over. I took all them multiple times which made the 4 state exams a breeze (I saw about 90% of the questions again).

Range training is exactly that. If you have any experience with towing any type of trailer it seems a little easier to grasp all the menuvuers for the basic controls. All the instructors were knowledgeable on range menuvuers and road skills. Derrick was a top notch instructor and gave constant constructive criticism to help students graps the skills needed to ace the straightline backing, offset backing, parallel parking and alley docking. He never hesitated to get in the truck with us or get behind the wheel for demonstrations.

The state exam is straight to the point, pretrip inspection, basic menuvuers and the road test. The state examiner was by the book and gave no leway. I forgot a few things on my vehicle inspection/pretrip and he didn’t give any indications that I missed something. He only mentioned them after I completed the whole exam.

Once you pass your state exam requirements they electronically send everything to DPS, you make your appt and you get your CDL. I would recommend this course over any course in the area. They can’t take your exams for you but they definitely put in the time so you are well prepared.

Available if you are/were military.

The interaction between student and instructor is amazing. Always engaged and knowledgeable with Q&A. Able to speak on their experiences and give insight on how the industry works. Provides good information on companies they’ve worked for and things to expect.

Instructions were clear and theory course was understandable all the way through. Resources and material were available at all times for studying in preparation for written test. Clear and concise material and instructions allowed students to pass courses efficiently.

Range instructions and demonstrations are easy to understand. Be patient and take your time with maneuvers and you will pass all test in your first try. If you are unable to fully understand the task, the instructors are more than happy and willing to demonstrate and explain over and over. In this course, you are treated as an adult and not a child. If you are messing up, they will let you know right away and try to help you correct your mistakes.

Overall, I recommend this course to anyone who is looking to get into this industry. If you’re in this area, GO TO THIS LOCATION! You’ll get the best instruction and hands on training!
